English Porcelain Mufifn Dish Stand & Cover C1830

View full sized English Porcelain Mufifn Dish Stand & Cover C1830

A splendid first quarter 19thC English porcelain muffin dish and cover, evocative ceramics from an age of elegant dining. The dish is gilded to the waved rims of stand and cover, and painted with an overal pattern of alternating green and puce. The centre of the stand and around the dome of the cover, scrolled gilding frames elegant flower sprays of mixed spring flowers, including bright striped tulips and daffodils. Both parts in nice condition with bright fresh enamels. The gilding is very good, with only sporadic light rub commensurate with age, a bit more to the knop, as expected, where repeated Regency fingers have lifted the cover to reach the hot buttered treats underneath. Hand paintd pattern # 2333 in red, neatly close to footrim.

Size: Stand 8.5" diameter Height 4.75" to finial.
