Rare Derby Porcelain Painted Plate C1760
A rare and early Derby plate with a moulded border of low relief basketwork and flower heads inset with four panels of painted insects. The centre is painted with a Chinese pavilion in landscape with a butterfly. This is THE plate illustrated by Cushion in English Porcelain p21, the plate then in the collection of Gilbert Bradley. Very nice condition, only a small scrape to footrim.
